Give to the Max
https://www.givemn.org/EaganForensics

We are participating in Give to the Max Day to raise money that supports our teams. Give to the Max Day is a great day in
Minnesota! It's a day when thousands of Minnesotans make charitable donations to make our state a better place. Donors go to GiveMN.org to find organizations to give to, and we want to make sure donors know they can give to the Eagan Debate and Speech teams through Eagan High School Forensics Boosters.

In addition to charitable gifts made to the Forensics Boosters, we will be eligible for Golden Ticket Drawings. At the end of each hour on November 14, GiveMN will randomly draw a donation from that hour and add $1,000 to the total! Wouldn't it be great if we got a Golden Ticket?

Where do gifts go?
Gifts go to the Eagan High School Forensics Boosters, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Eagan Debate and Eagan Speech teams. Eagan Forensics is an all-volunteer organization made up of current and former Debate and Speech team parents who believe in the power of these teams to transform lives and give students a voice.

How does that help our teams?
Your gift will provide opportunities for our teams to use their voice. The Forensics Boosters raises money to help pay for:
  • Tournament fees
  • Buses for tournaments
  • Trophies for the Wildcat tournaments
  • NIETOC
  • Nationals
  • Scholarships
What a great opportunity! How do I help?
There are some great ways to help! Choose what's right for you:
1. Make a gift of any size on our GiveMN page!

2. Team members, parents, and alumni: promote this opportunity among your friends and family in the days leading up to Give to the Max Day, November 14 and on the day itself.  A toolkit has been created that will give you images to share on social media as well as sample text for social posts.

Crowdfunding: you can also create your own fundraising page for us by going to our GiveMN page and selecting the big FUNDRAISE button. You can use images from the toolkit to help you build your page for peer-to-peer fundraising. If you are a team member, it would be great to include a picture of yourself dressed to compete! Then share your fundraiser several times during the week before and on the day of November 14. I

Will 100% of my gift go to support the teams?
Yes, if you add a little extra to cover the processing fee. GiveMN, the nonprofit that sponsors Give to the Max Day, adds a 6.9% fee on top of your gift. 4.9% of that covers the credit card processing fee and technology to run the day, and 2% supports GiveMN's mission and programs, which not only includes holding Give to the Max Day but also capacity-building opportunities for small nonprofit organizations in our community. To get more information about the fee structure, click here.  But you can make sure 100% of your gift goes to Eagan Forensics when you are prompted to add on the 6.9% fee to your gift before checkout.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, to the extent allowed by law. While Eagan Forensics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your gift first goes to GiveMN, and your tax receipt will be from that organization. No goods or services are given in exchange for your donation.

November 14 is a busy day. Can I give before that?
Yes! You can give starting November 1, and you can also give on the GiveMN platform after November 14. Additionally, within the next few months, Eagan High School Forensics Boosters will have online giving, too, and more of every gift given through that platform will support the teams. But don't wait until then to make your gift.

I'd rather mail a check. Can I do that?
Sure! You'll find the address below. BUT--consider giving on Give to the Max Day, because every hour, GiveMN will select a donation from that hour, and that organization will receive an extra $1,000. The Golden Ticket Drawing is sponsored by the Bush Foundation.
